What caused you to join APMM?
Based on my previous experience in procurement with the United Nations I applied for a position as Strategic Sourcing Manager with Maersk Procurement. I chose APMM due to its reputation as a first-class employer and my desire to work in a dynamic and culturally diverse environment

What is your job about?
My job involves project-based sourcing assignments which are undertaken in conjunction with the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group worldwide. We work with local staff to understand the challenges they face in terms of procurement and to support long term Group objectives by applying proven procurement tools, an analytical mindset and a genuine curiosity for solving problems

What are you working with at the moment?
I am currently involved in a sourcing project examining container transportation within South Africa. The project is supporting the newly established Area Procurement Office by looking into our activities in rail, trucking, and container storage in order to identify areas for optimization and to ensure cost leadership in South Africa.

What do you particularly value about your work?
The two things I value most are the environment and the people. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic and always keeps me on my toes and I work with talented and ambitious colleagues that challenge and inspire me to always deliver my best.

How has you career at APMM progressed?
My career has progressed rapidly but the learning curve has been steep. I am continuously challenged with additional responsibility while at the same time opportunities for growth and learning are present and supported throughout the organization.
